Science Marketing and Public Relations

I have produced a wide variety of printed pieces and Web sites that promote science at universities. Here's an excerpt from a brochure I produced for the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station:

Texas has a rich heritage in agriculture. And even in today's world of cities and high-tech industries, Texas agriculture is as strong as ever. In fact, agriculture is the second largest industry in Texas--total economic activity from agriculture brings in $75 billion annually for the state and provides 20 percent of all jobs in Texas. Agricultural research is one reason Texas agriculture has survived and overcome many challenges over the years. Agricultural scientists have always adapted their research to issues relevant to all Texans. Today this means conducting agricultural research that addresses healthy lifestyles, environmental concerns, and economic stability.
